The Scream Queen Reviews Death Rituals by Six Feet Under!

Ever since I heard Six Feet Under several years ago, I never could grasp onto their music. It was as if every song I heard sounded the same to me; it was a far cry from Cannibal Corpse when Chris Barnes was the vocalist from 1988 to 1995.

Before I even listened to Death Rituals, I thought it was going to agitate me just as their past albums have. However, as I have listened to it for the past week, the album definitely has grown on me and so has Six Feet Under in general.

Their songs on this album are considerably greater than their past material I've heard. There were some songs I didn't like, but the better songs exceeded the bad by a landslide. In my opinion, the best tracks on the CD are Bastard, Shot in the Head, and Ten Deadly Plagues; those have all turned out to be my favorites!

Over all, this album is one of the best death metal CDs I have heard this year. It has most of what you look for in death metal - brutal guitar solos, grinding riffs, incredible percussion, and a vast range of deep, deadly vocals.

Death Rituals proves that Chris Barnes is and will always reign supreme as one of the most influential and preeminent death metal vocalists/artists of all time.

My Rating: 3.5 out of 5
